About Christian J. Gomez, M.D.
Christian Gomez, M.D. is a radiologist specializing in Cardiothoracic and Abdominal Imaging. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus.
Dr. Gomez graduated from Pomona College where he earned a B.A. in Chemistry in 2015. He then received an M.D. at Drexel University College of Medicine in 2020 where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Gomez completed his internship training and his diagnostic radiology residency at Emory University School of Medicine from 2020 to 2025. During his training, Dr. Gomez was an active educator, preparing lectures, creating curriculum, and participating in editorial boards. He earned multiple education grants, including the Radiological Society of North America Education Project Award. Dr. Gomez was elected Chief Resident during his final year of residency and was awarded the Patrick Mullen award at graduation, voted by faculty and residents.
Dr. Gomez also has an interest in global health. In his last year of residency, he was selected to participate in the Emory Global Health Scholars Program. This year-long program culminated in a 4-week clinical rotation at Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa.
After residency, Dr. Gomez completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic/Abdominal Imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine in 2026, where he was awarded Fellow of the Year. Dr. Gomez joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in August 2026 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology.
Dr. Gomez’s clinical expertise is in Cardiothoracic and Abdominal imaging. He interprets a wide range of imaging examinations, including radiography, CT, MRI, PET, and ultrasound.
In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Gomez is actively involved in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
